LOCATION.--Lat 39°35'01", long 88°24'50", in NW1/4SW1/4 sec.10, T.13 N., R.7 E., Coles County, Hydrologic Unit 07140201,
on right upstream side of bridge in Cooks Mills, 3.8 mi downstream from Flat Branch, and at mile 238.1.
DRAINAGE AREA.--473 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 1970 to current year.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 617.40 ft above sea level. Prior to July 30, 1981, at site
200 ft downstream at same datum.
REMARKS.--Records good except those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers satellite
telemeter at station.
